ADRIANA AYALES :: ANIMA MUNDI HERBALS

"A rainforest herbalist from Costa Rica."

Adriana was with us last week to explain the difference between an Elixir + a Tonic.  This week we get to know this passionate soul a little better.  She creates beautiful, healing tonics + elixirs with a mission.  Her line is sustainably sourced, primarily from the rainforests of Central + South America, and directly from the small farmers practicing true organic farming, which in turn supports fair trade practices, permaculture outreach, and helps to develop the smaller economies in these areas.  Her herbal formulas are high potency, deeply nourishing, and a wonderful marriage between Rainforest Tribal botany, Chinese Medicine + Ayurveda.  A true celebration of native alchemies!

I invite you to learn a little more about Adriana below.

SHARE WITH US A BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY IN BRINGING ANIMA MUNDI HERBALS/APOTHECARY TO FRUITION.

I've always had a deep passion to Nature and the natural world in general.  When I want to San Francisco, California to study clinical herbalism and botany, I had an urge to share medicine with the world.  I saw clients privately and came to see how the symptomology we all share is very interconnected.  So I began creating base body type formulas and worked from there.  I started at farmers markets, and producing bulk elixirs for restaurants and health food stores.  I would go up and down between California and Costa Rica to visit family and bring herbs.  Taking Northern herbs there, and rainforest herbs up here.  I continued developing the line with the intention of creating a truly sustainably sourced, primarily from the rainforest, that integrated healing traditions from all over the world.

WERE YOU INTRODUCED TO HOLISTIC LIVING + WELLNESS AT A YOUNG AGE OR COME ACROSS IT LATER IN LIFE?

At a young age I was already exposed to this type of being.  Particularly growing up in luscious gardens with lots of animals, created that connection naturally in me.  As far as healing, I received Reiki training and psychic teachings at a very young age, and started opening myself up to these worlds quite intensively.
