ROSE is one of my favorite, deeply healing colors to fill my body with. More on breathing in this soft, gentle, loving color.
I've been breathing in the color gold and what a powerful beauty it has. More about filling your body, mind, + spirit with this healing color.
It is a incredible start to a passion project + company foundation when you test out one special product on your unknowing or unbelieving friends, and amazing, life altering shifts begin to happen for everyone. This is the case for ENERGY MUSE co-founders, Heather Askinosie and Timmi Jandro. From this test necklace, Heather + Timmi have grown Energy Muse into what it is today: THE destination for healing crystal + energy jewelry. In an ideal partnership situation, Heather brings her background in Feng Shui and studies of crystal with healers worldwide, while Timmi brings her 12 year background in merchandising to head up the company's development. All of their jewelry is handcrafted in the US and each piece "is purified, aligned and activated in our sacred healing room for a minimum of 48 hours. The healing room vibrated with sound, light, crystal energy and sacred geometry."
I have had the opportunity to wear a few of their pieces over the last months. I was energetically "pulled" towards two in particular. The first is their WATER NECKLACE, made with Blue Aragonite, which helps to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul, bringing a sense of calm, patience and tranquility. The second is their CHAKRA BALANCING BODY CHAIN, created with the 7 chakra healing stones—Red Garnet, Orange Carnelian, Yellow Citrine, Green Chrysoprase, Blue Turquoise, Indigo Iolite + Purple Amethyst, which helps to bring the chakras back into balance + alignment. I wear both daily and can attest to their magical powers.
I invite you to learn more about the lovely Heather + Timmi below.
SHARE WITH US ABOUT HOW ENERGY MUSE CAME TO FRUITION.
We created Energy Muse Jewelry based on the power of one necklace called Prosperity. Ten Prosperity necklaces were initially made by Heather to test her theories and beliefs about crystals (Heather has passionately studied crystals and gems with healers from around the world). The necklaces were given to friends that did not believe in, or understand anything about crystals and their potential, including Timmi. Ten days later, an energy shift was noticed and reported by those wearing the charmed necklace. For Timmi, a string of good luck, a surprise development, events and occurrences had no explanation for their timing—except for the necklace. Timmi along with the others wearing the Prosperity necklace were so impressed with their personal results, that through the word of mouth, the demand for jewelry prompted Heather and Timmi to join forces and turn this amazing discovery into a true business endeavor.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE STONE? OR ONE THAT YOU FIND YOURSELF DRAWN TO THE MOST?
H: Shungite is my obsession stone right now. It is one of the first stones science has actually researched and finding to be transformative. They’re calling it the miracle stone of the 21st century.
T: Lately it’s been Selenite because it has been instrumental in helping get a goodnight sleep. It’s good for peace and harmony and I love having it around my house and office.
WERE YOU INTRODUCED TO HOLISTIC LIVING + WELLNESS AT A YOUNG AGE OR COME ACROSS IT LATER IN LIFE?
H: At a young age. My mom is the reason I’m into all this because when I was growing up. My mom had a diverse group of friends of tarot readers, astrologers, and strict Christians. We always had a diverse group coming in an out. I grew up in an environment where that was the norm. My mom was especially into astrology and she was always about expanding your mind because there’s a lot of different ways to look at something.
T: Heather and I spent a lot of time at my grandma’s house in elementary school. The three of us would have deep conversations about reincarnation. That was kind of my start of thinking that there was more existing here than just what we can see in the present moment-there’s a lot more to think about. I also always ate well. When I went to college, my dad said, “We’re going to lose our cook.” Then yoga and meditation were introduced to me after college, and they came easy. Over the years my routine has evolved but has always included mediating, writing down what I’m grateful for and living mindfully.
WHAT DAILY RITUALS ARE NON-NEGOTIABLES FOR YOU TO HELP KEEP YOU BALANCED + CENTERED?
H: I have got to meditate every single day. That’s a non-negotiable. I don’t necessarily have to be sitting— although that’s the best—but it can be walking or chanting. I have to do something to do something that connects me to my spiritual life every day. I also start my day by writing down what my intention for the day is.
T: Sitting under my meditation pyramid and working with my angel cards is how I start every day. I also need to spend time reading. I also try to find time to get some type of exercise in whether it is yoga or going for a walk. My definitive non-negotiable is if I’m home, I stop what I’m doing to watch the sunset.
DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY.
H: A perfect day would spending the day completely unplugged and enjoying laughter and simple fun on the beach with family and friends. It wouldn’t matter what we were doing, as long as we were connecting with each other.
T: Ideally, I’d get in my daily routine. Then I’d be somewhere by the ocean going for a walk or a swim. I love getting in the water because its so cleansing and the movement and flow in the water is so calming and peaceful. I can also get into my head when I’m swimming and do my prayers and meditation while swimming. It’s like a whole other world under the water. If I can share that with family or good friends that’s even better. Being of service to someone is also important to me—either physically volunteering or just being an ear for someone. Then of course, watching the sunset and snuggling up with my kids.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL BREAKFAST? LUNCH? DINNER? SNACK?
H: When I’m on track I do the things I know are good for me, like eat the right food for me. I don’t like a lot of routine. I like to get into what I’m studying at the time. I’m in an Ayurvedic vibe right now, so for BREAKFAST I have heated oatmeal with stewed fruit. LUNCH is rice dishes with mung beans or dahl with lots of spices. DINNER is usually hot soup with herbs and seasonings. Hot milk with turmeric is my dessert or snack.
T: I usually have coconut yogurt with granola and fruit with a green juice for BREAKFAST. LUNCH is usually a salad with a veggie patty or chicken and DINNER is usually fish with quinoa and veggies.
H: I love chai tea latte’s, especially from Earth Café. I also love Pressed Juicery.
T: Water with lemon or lime or a green juice. Beaming juice and Creation are some of my favorite juicers.
WHERE IS/ARE YOUR MOST FAVORITE PLACE/S TO BE ON THIS EARTH?
H: Kauai, in Hawaii. Being there with my family is incredible.
T: I have a lot of places I like. Right here in Palos Verdes is really great. Kauai , San Francisco, Santa Barbara, New York City, San Sebastian, Paris and Rome.
WHAT BEAUTY | FITNESS | HEALTH GURUS INSPIRE YOU?
H: For beauty, I rely on Dayle Breault of Goddess of Skin because she is an alchemist in what she does. She is a blend of alchemy, scientist, and beauty. She is something special. Donna Gates from the Body Ecology is my go-to source for nutrition. I really respect her whole philosophy. For motivation and inspiration, I follow Anthony Robbins. His message is constantly evolving and I really love how he integrates so much together.
T: Dayle Breault and Anthony Robbins have also been two who I’ve relied on through the years. Goddess of Skin is about nourishing your body with food for your face, which I love. I also love Walt Disney because he was always about having fun and remembering the kid in you. Deepak Chopra has a lot of great information as well. I go to a lot of local people in the South Bay area for special treatments like reflexology or Ayurveda.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MANTRA?
H: "The best is yet to come" and "Don’t worry be happy".
T: "If you can dream it you can do it" and "Some of the most challenging, difficult times bring the biggest growth."
WHAT IS THE LATEST BOOK ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?
H: I read about 4-6 books at a time. I’m currently reading The Mantra Book, Polishing the Mirror, The Gratitude Diaries, and Your Chinese Horoscope 2016.
T: I’ve been going back to the classics from Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
